To many, choosing the right baby registry is a joyful experience but knowing how stressful it was for our wedding, I dreaded the long road of endless decisions. From registry platforms, to gadgets, baby bottle brands, strollers, you name it. I asked, researched, and tried so many different products. Hopefully this will take out some of the not so enjoyable part of planning for you so that you may dive deep into what this experience is supposed to be, blissful.
There are so many choices out there and most of my friends had multiple registries. I’ll be honest, that just seemed too overwhelming for me. I was determined to have one registry maybe two if I was set on a hand-full of items from a particular store.
I did a lot of research before fully committing to my choice. When I searched up “top baby registries” on Google, the first one that came up was Babylist.com. I was SUPER close to choosing them for my registry BUT when I compared the registries side-by-side there was one clear winner: Amazon Baby Registry. Keep reading to learn why…
Both Babylist and Amazon have some pretty sweet benefits like their welcome boxes, both have a wide selection of baby products. They have their own unique way of organizing suggestions by categories- this was very helpful. Both are similar in the sense that they are a one stop shopping spot for all of your registry needs.
We decided to go with Amazon Baby Registry is because:
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE perk which is actually what helped me decide between Babylist and Amazon was the completion discount. Now, I know what you’re thinking, Babylist also has a discount and it is also 15%; HOWEVER, when you read the terms and conditions here is what you will find:
Babylist.com – ” The discount is one-time-use only…” You can read more on their website here.
I couldn’t believe it myself but it’s true. ONE TIME!
Now, when you take a look at Amazon’s registry terms here here is what you will find which let me warn you, is almost unbelievable but TRUE!
Amazon Baby Registry- “You can apply the 15% discount on orders up to a combined value of $2,000, for a maximum discount of $300.00.” You can read more on Amazon’s website here.
I was already sold there and then I saw this: “Gifts purchased from your Baby Registry are eligible for free returns within 365 days of the receipt of your shipment.”- Amazon You can read more about this here.
This was the decision-maker for us. We fully committed, and thank goodness we did because we returned SO MUCH STUFF that we didn’t even get to use or realized we didn’t need. The absolute best part was that with the stuff we returned, we purchased other things we did need, like diapers, wipes, etc., WITH OUR DISCOUNT!!!!
I don’t regret my choice at all, and in fact, I tell all my friends and family to make sure they register at Amazon.”
